The recent advances in the understanding of the optical properties of the eye paved the way to new approaches to treat ocular diseases. The “magical” combination of basic science leading to practical clinical applications is more appealing than ever in this area of research. In this meeting, the current situation of the field will be first reviewed. The format of interactive discussions will address the future potential for applications in topics as different as manipulating the optical properties of the cornea, measuring intraocular scattering, developing new correcting devices, etc… The aim of the meeting is to explore the present and to invent the future of visual optics.
