Computational methods for RNA analysis
2009, Jul 26 -- Aug 08
Organizers:
E. Rivas (HHMI)
E. Westhof (U. Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg)
The workshop Computational methods for RNA analysis will be held in Benasque, Huesca (Spain) from July 26th to Aughst 8th, 2009.
This workshop intends to present and discuss the state of RNA computational biology, to identify the needs, and to propose new developments for the identification, annotation, and the computational analysis of functional and regulatory RNAs present in genomes.
A central aim of the meeting is to allow participants to do theoretical work on RNA genomics being in the same location with ample time to interact, transfer ideas, and do actual scientific research. The actual talks in the workshop will be informal yet technical, and they are intended to give impetus and dynamism to the collaborative exchange of ideas and algorithms. The meeting constitutes an unique opportunity for deepening and spreading knowledge on RNA bioinformatics.
Specifically, some of the issues that will be discussed are:
- RNA two and three dimensional structure prediction;
- RNA genefinding and genome annotation;
- RNA homology searches and structural alignments.
- RNA databases and RNA Ontology.
Registration can be done through this website, not later than April 15th 2009.
Interested applicants are encouraged to submit an application through this website, also not later than April 15th 2009. As part of the application, please include information if you expect to collaborate with somebody already at the workshop. Please also include a url (or attach a cv) where we can find information about your research. The organizers will communicate the final list of participants by the end of April 2009.
So far, this event has received financial support from the following institutions: European Science Foundation, Foundation Digiteo-Triangle de la Physique, and Centro de Ciencias de Benaque Pedro Pascual.
