CENTRO DE CIENCIAS DE BENASQUE MAGIC Winter School 20082008, February 25 -- March 1
This is the 2nd MAGIC Winter School. It aims at providing students and postdocs who are newly arrived to the experiment with experience in the experimental techniques of gamma-ray detection with Imaging Cherenkov telescopes and, of course, with MAGIC. It will cover some of the amazing astrophysical studies of gamma-ray sources that can be done with such equipments, and the analysis techniques which are employed in MAGIC. The courses will be eminently practical. A substantial amount of time will be devoted to learning how to use the telescope's software package with real life analysis examples. Attendance is limited to members of the MAGIC collaboration. Come join us if you want to know how those photons are produced, how MAGIC detects them and how our software helps you to turn raw data into a scientific publication! More details on the and lecturers are posted at: Participants are expected to arrive on February 25
and leave on March 1, although shorter stays are also possible.
Deadline for applications is January 6, 2008.
